• If you want to visualize what a million is, or what a liter is, check out the MegaCube, a paper liter-sized cube inscribed with millimeters. This is a pdf file which you can print out on some stiff paper (like cover stock) and assemble. There are a million (that's 10⁶) little cubic millimeters in the liter cube. To download the pdf file, right-click on the link and select "Save Target As..." (or some similar command, depending on your browser.)
